Smucker, who have been awarded scholarships to
attend Division 1 schools next year.

Jordon Smucker has signed a letter of intent to play baseball with Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY.  Smucker has been the starting shortstop for the Blazers the past two years.

“I look forward to being able to compete for a starting position for a quality program like Binghamton.,” said Smucker.  “I’m also excited to compete against quality programs like LSU as well as the others in the American East Conference.”

Varsity Coach Bryant Wells said  Jordon’s success is a direct result of his work ethic and leadership on and off the field where he leads by example.  Jordon is the son of Jim and Anna Smucker, Bird-in-Hand.

Katelyn Vanderhoff will be attending the University of Maine to play women’s basketball.  Last year she was a key part of Lancaster Mennonite’s team which proved to be the most successful girls’ basketball team in school history, winning a Section 3 championship, finishing second in the Lancaster Lebanon League playoffs, winning the District 3 AAA title, and advancing into the second round of the State playoffs.

“As a player she is one of the most determined and fundamentally sound players I have ever coached.” said Coach Sherri Gorman.  “She understands the game so well and has such a great passion for the game. She is fun to watch and can do some amazing things with the ball.”

Vanderhoff, daughter of Bob and Carol Vanderhoff, Lititz, is quickly closing in on 1,000 career points.  She starts the season with a career total of 896.
