FBLA students go to states

During the Region 18 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition, nine Lancaster Mennonite High School students were selected to advance to state competition, which will be held April 4 and 5 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center:

  • Philip Yui Jae Lee, son of Young Kil Lee and Yeon Mi Yoo, Gwangju, South Korea—first place in Business Calculations;
  • Zachary Lare, son of Mark and Theresa Lare, Perkasie—first place in Business Law;
  • Brent Dimmig, son of Peter and Marian Dimmig, Elizabethtown—first place in Computer Problem Solving;
  • Jaclyn Dagen, daughter of Dennis and Kathy Dagen, Pequea—first place in Word Processing II;
  • Polly Yixin Zhang, daughter of Bing Zhang and Qinghuai Zeng, Beijing, China—first place in Accounting II;
  • Gahye Kim, daughter of Jumho Kim and Yunhwa Jung, Kyung Kido, South Korea—second place in Accounting II;
  • Katherine Peck, daughter of David and Shellee Peck, Ephrata—second place in Hospitality Management;
  • Grant Benner, son of Lamar and Cheryl Benner, New Holland—second place in Personal Finance;
  • Candy Guiying Mu, daughter of Gaoping Mu and Yihua Wang, Chongqing, China—fourth place in Business Calculations.
In addition, five others received certificates for their achievements. They are: Leo L. Valmonte, son of Leo Valmonte, Kinzers—second place in Client Services; Daphanie Da Eun Jung, daughter of Yoo Sung Jung and Kyung Hee Hwang, Kang Dong Gu, South Korea,—fifth place in Personal Finance; Lanjiabao Ge, daughter of Ge Ling and Gao Hong, Zibo City, Shandong Province, China—fifth place in Business Calculations; Yubin Lee, daughter of Young Sun Lee, Seoul, South Korea—fifth place in Economics; and Kidus Belay, son of Kibebew Belay and Tewadaje Bisewer, Ethiopia—fifth place in Accounting 1.
