Five LMH students receive top FFA award
Five Lancaster Mennonite High School seniors received Keystone FFA Degrees, the state’s highest FFA award, on January 9 during the Pa. FFA Association’s 83rd Mid-Winter Convention.
The LMH Hans Herr members, all seniors, are: Luke Hershey, son of Les and Lois Hershey, Kirkwood; Connor Hofford, son of Robert Hofford and Janet Malin, Willow Street; Megan Lehman, daughter of Steve and Mary Lehman, Holtwood; Alex Nissley, son of Gerald and Mary Nissley, Middletown; and Austin Nissley, also son of Gerald and Mary Nissley, Middletown.
In addition, the parents of Luke Hershey, Megan Lehman, Alex Nissley and Austin Nissley were recognized for having had three or more children receive the KeystoneFFA Degree.
To earn this top award, high school students must be an FFA member for a minimum of 3 years, earn $1,000 or work 600 hours in a Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program, and demonstrate leadership in the school and community.
