Eleven Lancaster Mennonite High School (LMH) students have been selected to participate in county and/or district music festivals this winter.

Senior Lauren Sauder (soprano 1), daughter of Rich and Bonnie Sauder, Smoketown, qualified for the Pa. Music Educator Association (PMEA) District 7 Chorus Festival, and junior Laura Thomas (alto saxophone), daughter of Harold and Karen Thomas, East Petersburg, qualified for PMEA District 7 Band. The public concert for the district chorus festival will be held January 28, 7:30 p.m., at Northern York High School. The district band festival concert will be held January 14, 7 p.m. at Central York High School.
Sauder also qualified for Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educator’s Association (LLMEA) County Chorus, along with four others: junior George Eitzen (tenor 2), son of Dirk and Myrna Eitzen, Lititz; senior Katie Rose Johnson (soprano 1), daughter of Stephen and Nancy Johnson, Lititz; Hyun Woo Lee (tenor 2), son of Jong Chan Lee and Hwang Soo Yeon, Seoul, South Korea; and junior Tuck Ryan (tenor 2), son of Thomas Ryan and Tracey Weis, Lancaster. The county chorus concert will be held January 21, 7:30 p.m. at Lampeter-Strasburg High School.
Laura Thomas qualified for the county band festival as well, along with four others: sophomore Jordan Klase (flute), daughter of Dorothy Klase, West Willow; junior Emily Snyder (clarinet), daughter of Marv and Lisa Weaver, Mount Joy; junior Kaitlyn King (clarinet), daughter of David and Kathy King, Atglen; and junior Chloe Mattilio (alto saxophone), daughter of John and Melissa Mattilio, Willow Street. The county band festival will be held January 7, 7 p.m. at Solanco High School.
Freshman Zachary Yoder (cello), son of Dwight and Julie Yoder, Manheim, qualified for county orchestra which will be held February 4, 7 p.m. at Lancaster Mennonite High School.
