Locust Grove student is runner up at Intell bee 
 
Rachel Steckbeck (pictured at right), a seventh-grader at the Locust Grove Campus of Lancaster Mennonite School, was runner-up at the 53rd Intelligencer Journal Championship Spelling Bee that was held March 18 at Conestoga Valley Middle School. Warwick’s David Krak was the grand champion; he will compete at the 2011 Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. 
 
Steckbeck is the daughter of Andrew and Joy Steckbeck, Lancaster. Locust Grove's Charlotte Schreyer, daughter of Timothy and Stephanie Schreyer, New Holland, also participated in the Intelligencer Journal bee and did well. Schreyer and Steckbeck were announced as finalists after completing the written test on February 23.
