LMH students selected for county, district and regional music festivals

LMH junior Anne Marie Baer (soprano 1), recently qualified for the Pa. Music Educator Association (PMEA) Region V State Choir Festival which will be held February 24-26 at Parkland High School, Allentown. Public concerts are set for Friday, February 25, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, February 26, at 2 p.m. She is the daughter of Gerald and Rose Baer, Elizabethtown.

Earlier, Baer qualified for the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educator’s Association (LLMEA) County Chorus Festival(4th place in the Chamber Choir) as well as the Pa. Music Educator Association (PMEA) District 7 Chorus Festival.

The public concert for the county chorus festival will be held at Manheim Township High School on February 5, at 7:30 p.m. The district chorus festival was held at Anneville Cleona High School January 14-15.

Besides Baer, four others qualified for the LLMEA County Chorus: senior Nikaela Frey, alto 2, daughter of Sidney and Elaine Frey, Columbia; junior Kristen Gochnauer, alto 2, daughter of David and Rebecca Gochnauer, Conestoga; senior Eric Kemp, tenor 1, son of Eric and Hollie Kemp, Lancaster; and senior Daniel Baker, bass 2 (came in 5th), son of John and Suzanne Baker, Mohnton.

In other district news, Su Ji Kim (cello), daughter of  Chan Ju and Mi Kyung Kim, Kyeonggi-do, South Korea, qualified for PMEA District 7 Orchestra. The district orchestra festival was held at Central Dauphin High School January 28-29.
