Middle school students at the Locust Grove Campus of Lancaster Mennonite School will present the musical, “Narnia,” Thursday and Friday, February 16-17, at 7 p.m. Admission is $2.00 for 10 and under and $5.00 for others. The Locust Grove Campus is located east of Lancaster on Route 340.

There also is a matinee performance Friday, February 17, at 9:15 a.m. where admission will be by donation. For more information, call Locust Grove at 394-7107.

“Narnia” is a musical version of C.S. Lewis’s “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” The story follows the four Pevensie children—Peter, played by Julian Brubaker; Susan, played by Madeline Mast; Edmund, played by Roman Thomas; and Lucy, played by Hannah Brubaker, all eighth graders—as they crawl into a wardrobe and enter the land of Narnia. There they meet an old beaver couple (played by seventh graders Nathan Pauls and Mackenzie Brubaker) as they search for the great lion, Aslan, played by LMS teacher Dean Sauder. They discover they are the four children destined to help defeat the evil White Witch, Queen Jadis (played by Emily Peifer), and restore Narnia back to its original condition.

The production includes a beautiful score, fun-filled choreography and a heartwarming message. Directing the musical are Locust Grove teachers Susan Burkholder and Curry Snell. Music director is teacher Jan Stauffer, and directors for costumes and set are teachers Barbara Josephian and Velma Magill.
