LMS staff recognized



This spring 23 staff members were recognized for their service to the school. Kraybill Campus second grade teacher Audrey Yoder (top right picture) was recognized for 35 years. 

Recognized for 30 years: Karen Gyger, Lancaster Campus health and physical education; and Velma Magill, Locust Grove and New Danville art teacher. 

For 25 years: Edie Hess, New Danville administrative assistant; Sheri Wenger, Lancaster social studies teacher; and Beth Yoder, New Danville kindergarten teacher. 

For 20 years: Mark Boll, Lancaster custodian; Andrew Hershey, Lancaster science teacher; and Joyce Thomas, Lancaster administrative assistant. 

For 15 years: Valerie Garton, Kraybill computer teacher, Kraybill Challenge Program teacher, and system technology coordinator; Sylvia Handwerk, Kraybill second grade teacher; and Martha High, Locust Grove kindergarten teacher. 

For 10 years: Stephen Kenkelen, LMMS sixth grade teacher; Lew Martin, Lancaster mathematics teacher; Robert Martin, Locust Grove custodian; Mardelle Root, Lancaster food services; Dean Sauder, Lancaster Bible/drama teacher; and Fred Winey, Lancaster physical education teacher. 

Retiring are Verlen Rufenacht, 36 years, Lancaster business education teacher; John Weber, 22 years as Kraybill principal and 10 years as Lancaster social studies teacher; Kenneth Schildt, 31 years, Kraybill athletic director and social studies/literature teacher; Jane Yoder, 16 years, Kraybill kindergarten teacher; and Mary Bucher, 12 years, Kraybill media center/language arts teacher.
