Stddents Awarded in Scholastic Writing Contest

Seven Lancaster Mennonite High School students received awards during the 2008 Scholastic Writing Contest.

Senior Sara Lefever, daughter of David and Sharon Lefever, Lancaster, received a Gold Key for her personal essay, "Out of Season." Her piece will go on to national competition.

Senior Suzanne Yocom, daughter of Dan and Amy Yocom, Millersville, received a Silver Key for her poetry.

Five students received a Certificate of Merit. They are: junior Alexandra Diamantoni, daughter of James and Martha Diamantoni, Lancaster, personal essay; senior Audrey Ebersole, daughter of Dale and Barb Ebersole, Lancaster, personal essay; senior Jenna Ebersole, daughter of Daryl and Brenda Ebersole, Lancaster, journalism; junior Lucas Good, son of Richard and Marcia Good, Mohnton, personal essay; senior Chelsea Vecchiarelli, daughter of Anthony and Bonnie Vecchiarelli, Quarryville, personal essay.

The pieces were written for LMS English classes taught by Jane Moyer, Kathleen Engle and Jonathan Metzler.
