Superintendent’s note

How do you measure the value of an LMS education?

One could celebrate new and upgraded facilities or outstanding college entrance examination scores (achieved by our seniors) that speak to the success of our elementary and secondary educational program. Others may look at the winning tradition of athletic teams or some of the key performance measures we use to track our progress. Still others might consider the number of computers in the school.

Education can easily lead to a myopic self-centered perspective, especially in a culture where the foundational value is here and now, and there is no more. In contrast, at LMS we introduce students to “the more” view of reality so that they, like Abraham in the Old Testament, find reality where “God is builder and maker.”

The value of an LMS education is found in the holistic way we bring together intellectual, spiritual and personal development. As we do this through our planned PreK–12 educational program, our students are prepared for college and career but, more importantly, are transformed as they develop Christian character that reflects the life of Jesus. This is the value we bring and the real LMS Difference.

Shalom!
J. Richard Thomas
