ALL CAMPUSES
Fifty-ninth year
This year marks the 59th for the Kraybill Campus. Of the 353 students, 47 are in kindergarten and 19 in PreK, representing a
significant increase over last year. We celebrate and welcome 52 new families. Partnering with families and congregations, we
look forward to nurturing our students in a faith-building school community.
New Family Orientation
A New Family Orientation night is being planned for Tuesday, September 25, at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center.
Parents/caregivers new to Kraybill are welcome to this session to learn more about the operation of the school.
Back-to-School Open House
A Back-to-School Open House will be held as part of the Parent Teacher Fellowship on Monday, September 24, at
7 p.m. in the gym/auditorium. Most of the evening will involve visiting your child’s classroom and meeting his/her teacher. New
library books will be on display for parents to sponsor by checking out the book for review and donating it to the school.
Grocery purchases can benefit school
Families are encouraged to make grocery purchases that benefit the school.
- Purchase groceries at Giant Markets using your Bonus card and the school code 01792. In order to have a portion of the GIANT grocery purchases credited to Kraybill's account, parents/family/friends need to link their bonus card with the school code by either, (1) registering online at www.giantaplus.com or (2) filling out a form at the customer service department at the store. It is a one time registration process. After that it is not necessary to provide the school code when making purchases.
- Use grocery gift cards for purchases at Darrenkamps, Giant, and Weis Markets. Order forms are available at the school office. The school receives 5% of the receipts
Coach needed
The Kraybill Campus has an opening for a middle school boys basketball
coach for the winter season. For more information, contact Athletic
Director Ken Schildt at 653-5236, ext 117, or schildtke@lancastermennonite.org.
Staying after school
Students staying after school to attend athletic events, except for team members, must have a signed note from home which is due
to the office in the morning. Students should meet their parent/caregivers in the media center and attend the game with their
parents. Parents/caregivers are expected to supervise their child(ren) during the game. Students attending games are not permitted
in hallways or buildings.
New Kraybill Campus Site Council Members
The Kraybill Campus Site Council will meet September, November, January, March and May to serve as the ears and eyes for the
principal. The two newly appointed members who were approved by the school board are Peter Cook and Mary Beth Will. The Cooks
have three children enrolled at Kraybill, attend Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, and live in Maytown. Mary Beth and her husband,
Steve, have two enrolled, attend Hope Community Church and live in Elizabethtown. Both begin a three-year term in September.
Continuing on Site Council are Rose Baer, Pete Dimmig, John Simkins and Shari Wolgemuth. Site Council members welcome your
comments and feedback throughout the year to provide counsel for the principal.
Intergenerational volunteers welcomed at Kraybill
Kraybill Campus has been blessed over the years with active parent
volunteers both in the classroom assisting teachers and in helping
with hot lunches and fundraising events. The school also wants to
strongly encourage interested grandparents to become regular volunteers.
Please encourage interested grandparents to contact the school at
653-5236 or weberjs@lancastermennonite.org.
Our children’s education is enriched and made more complete when it
becomes intergenerational.
