Looking Ahead for:

New Danville Campus

Volunteer hours
Volunteers served the school for 130 hours in the month of March. Thank you!

Penny Power Project
In recent weeks, students raised $529.00 for the Penny Power Project that is sponsored by Mennonite Central Committee to provide clean water for persons in countries such as Kenya, India and Viet Nam. Thank you for your generosity!

Yearbooks
Yearbooks will cost $15.00 this year, and we anticipate them being available mid-May. At that time, all students will be able to bring payment and receive a book.

Track & Field Day
Field Day for all students will be held Friday, May 16 (rain date May 19). A special lunch will be served on the 16th: ham and cheese sandwich, chips, apple, granola bar, popsicle and milk. Students may buy this bag lunch under their current lunch status or pack their own. Look for additional details about the day coming home with your child this week.

Gianni Pizza Fundraiser
Order forms for the spring Gianni pizza sale were sent home with students on Monday, April 21. Delivery date is May 16. Families may choose to make a tax deductible donation to this fundraiser in lieu of selling pizza. All income will go toward the purchase of the climbing wall which has been ordered and hopefully will be in place by the end of the year (but may need to wait until summer for installation). Thanks for your support of our students!

Health reminder
Please note that the following exams are required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as part of the school health law: physical exams for grades PreK or K, 6, and dental exams for PreK or K, 1 and 5. Forms for your family will be sent with report cards or through the mail. Forms from exams administered up to one year prior to the beginning of the school year are acceptable. Exams should be completed and the forms returned to the school office by the first week of school in August. Thank you.

Joint music event a first for LG and ND
For the first time, grades 3–5 students at Locust Grove and New Danville will perform a joint elementary spring concert. It will be held May 9, 7 p.m., at the Fine Arts Center at the Lancaster Campus. All students will sing, and grades 4 and 5 also will participate in the band.
