Looking Ahead for:
Locust Grove Campus
Thank you, volunteers
From December 1 through January 31 we totaled 196 volunteer hours. A BIG thank you to everyone.
Charlotte’s Web
More than 25 middle school students will present the musical, Charlotte’s Web Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23, at Locust Grove. Performances begin at 7 p.m. No tickets are necessary; an offering will be received.
The Children’s Literature Association named Charlotte’s Web "the best American children’s book of the past 200 years," and Joseph Robinette, working with author E.B. White, has created a play that captures this work in a thrilling theatrical presentation. Charlotte’s Web is a play about true friendship and love. It has all the enchanting characters that were introduced in the children’s book: Wilbur the irresistible pig, played by Olivia Mast; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other, played by Rachel Fueyo; Templeton the gluttonous rat, played by Andrew Pauls; and Charlotte the spider, who demonstrates true friendship, played by Elizabeth Horst; along with the Arables, Zuckermans, and the farm animals. Directors are Susan Burkholder and Curry Snell.
Spelling Bee
Congratulations to the following students who represented Locust Grove in the LMS middle school spelling bee: 5th grade, Austin Sauder, Charlotte Schreyer and Ben Zook; 6th grade, Andrew Pauls; 8th grade, Eileen Barker, Olivia Mast and Maddie Nathan.
Open house
We welcomed 19 families to our open house activities early this month. Please continue to share the good news about the quality Christian education available at Locust Grove with your relatives, neighbors, friends, and church family.
Book fair sales
Thank you for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair. Due to your participation we are able to purchase nearly $2,000 worth of books for our library and classrooms.
Auction update—Friday, April 25
The Locust Grove Benefit Auction and Chicken Barbecue will be a one-day event this year. The Chicken Barbecue will run 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. The Auction will begin at 4 p.m. and will include gift baskets, lawn and garden items, art, quilts and other specialty items. All class baskets are slated to sell at 7 p.m., and all students and teachers in attendance will be asked to present their basket for sale.
Auction donations needed: A successful auction requires quality merchandise. Each patron is asked to donate several items or contact businesses for donations. Please complete and return the donation form that was recently mailed to you.
Volunteers needed: A successful auction also requires many volunteers. Watch for the volunteer sign-up form coming soon. Persons are needed to help with the chicken barbecue, food stands and auction.
