Looking Ahead for:
New Danville Campus
Family Science Night
All families are invited to Family Science Night in the New Danville gym Thursday, February 28, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Students in K–5 will share the work they have done in various science classes; it is also an opportunity for children and adults to participate in hands-on science experiments.
Volunteer hours—Thank you!
In January, we logged 126 volunteer hours—thank you! Our volunteers help serve lunch, work as teacher aides, and assist in the media center and with office projects. Each volunteer is very much appreciated.
General Mills Box Tops
Thank you for clipping Box Tops for Education. Please submit them frequently to ensure that none expire before they are redeemed. There are quite a few that expire 6/1/08. Also, please be sure that the expiration dates on the box tops are not cut or torn off, as we cannot use them without the expiration date. So far, we have enough box tops to receive approximately $500 and Mrs. Lauren McFall, our “box top volunteer” is still counting. Keep ‘em coming!
Mennonite History Day scheduled
This year’s Mennonite History Day speaker will be Don Sensenig who will share “Stories from Vietnam.” Sponsored by the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society, he will speak to our students during the weekly chapel on Thursday, March 13, at 10:45 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend.
Spring benefit auction
New Danville’s 32nd Country Auction will be held Friday, April 18, in the gym. Please mark your calendar and be sure to attend this fun event! Food will be available at 4 p.m. with the auction from 5:00-11:00 p.m. We had a great crowd last year and are looking forward to having all families participate by working at the event, donating merchandise, and working with area businesses. Volunteer sheets will be sent home soon to solicit your help. Also, we ask that you consider purchasing items to be re-sold over the auction block, or perhaps you have gently used items in your home or shop to donate that would appeal to the general public. John and Melissa Mattilio are co-chairs again this year and welcome your call (917-4682) regarding questions about possible donations. Please call them, also, if you need to arrange pickup for an item. The sale benefits the Annual Fund.
Sub Sale
Order forms for our spring sub sale were sent home last Friday. Delicious subs from Boas Food Market are being sold at $4.00 each. Order forms are due back Tuesday, March 4, with delivery day Thursday, March 13. Payment is due March 17. Proceeds will go toward the Site Council fund raising efforts for the year. Thanks for selling lots of subs and supporting our students!
