Eighth grade career shadowing
On May 26, eighth grade students will shadow someone in a career of their choice. Students have been given a folder with handouts and related assignments and will need to return assignments for a grade. We are hosting a career fair from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27. Students may choose to attend four of the 12 half-hour presentations. Reflection of the shadowing experience and the career fair will occur Thursday afternoon. As students explore careers, our goal is that they consider vocation and God’s calling in their lives. We encourage parents to discuss with their students how their faith plays a role in their jobs.

Eighth Grade Recognition
Family and friends are invited to attend the eighth grade recognition on Tuesday, June 2, at 7 p.m. We welcome seventh grade parents to help provide refreshments (cookies and punch) following the event. Please contact Brenda Bare at (717) 299-0436, ext. 723, or barebl@lancastermennonite.org. Invitations have been mailed to families with details for the evening. Following the program, a party will be held at Jared Nisly’s home—hosted by the Nisleys and the Hertzlers. They welcome food contributions for the party. Dress code is in effect for the program. Students are encouraged to bring clothing to change into for the party.

Eighth grade last day
The last day of school for eighth grade students will be June 2. The last day of school for sixth and seventh grade students is June 3 with an 11:00 dismissal.

Laurel Wreath
The 2009 yearbooks were distributed on May 12, but there are still copies available. Purchase one from Mrs. Ramer Hunter or at the school office.

Parents of 2009–10 seniors
Jonathan Charles will be taking the senior yearbook pictures this summer at Charles Studio, located near Centerville. If your student has not yet scheduled an appointment, please call Charles Studio as soon as possible to set a time (717-898-6254). It is important to schedule these appointments early in the summer because of yearbook deadlines and also because scheduling at the studio becomes more difficult later in the summer. The school appreciates all the free photography services Charles Studio gives the yearbook in exchange for your patronage.
