Campus Ministries Advisory Council

Through a multi-generational, diverse council of persons inside and outside of LMS, the Council provides wisdom of the whole people of God into the faith formation process at Lancaster Mennonite School. In addition to the Campus Pastor, who leads the group, the Council includes at least three students, two faculty members, a local pastor, the high school principal (ex-officio), and the superintendent (ex-officio).
Members of the Advisory Council:
- Contribute ideas for implementing the chapel curriculum.
- Increase student leadership.
- Pass along ideas of students and teachers, as well as bring their own.
- Look for ways to bring depth into chapels, through quality of thought and presentation, as well as liturgy.
- Suggest faculty and students who have faith stories to share.
- Look for dramatic, artistic, and interactive ways to invite the school to worship.
- Help organize and support chapels as needed.
- Be committed to the school’s Anabaptist identity, while being warmly ecumenical.
- Provide another testing ground for developing and supporting other campus ministries, such as support groups and the prayer room.
- Pray regularly for chapels and for the school community.
