Brent Nauman Memorial Endowment Fund for an Athletic Trainer

Brent Nauman graduated from LMH in 1991 where he played on the soccer team.  He was the son of Don and Erla Nauman, both graduates of LMH.  Brent died in 1993 as a result of injuries incurred in a motorcycle accident.

In November 1993, the Brent Nauman Memorial Endowment for intramural and athletic programming at LMH was established by friends and family through the LMH Soccer Booster Club.  In December 1995, the endowment was changed to reflect the school's need for an athletic trainer and retitled "the Brent Nauman Memorial Endowment Fund for an athletic trainer."

A professional trainer is an important part of a quality athletic program, providing first aid care and rehabilitation services for athletes while freeing the coaching staff to spend quality time with the rest of the team.  Providing first aid for varsity athletes is an expectation of a good host.  The trainer also works closely with the coaching staff in the prevention of injuries through exercise programs.

The goal is to provide a half-time trainer and supplies needed by the trainer from endowment earnings. The cost to support a trainer at this level is projected to be approximately $25,000 per year.  Using current policies, the goal for the endowment has been updated to $500,000 corpus with a budgeted 5% transfer.
