2008 Commencement Held -- School's Out!
Commencement activities for the class of 2008 were held at Lancaster
Mennonite High School on Friday, May 30, and Saturday, May 31, in the Fine
Arts Center.
The dedication service on Friday began with a concert by Campus Chorale
at 6:30 p.m. followed by the dedication service at 7:30. The service,
planned by the Senior Class Committee, featured three senior speakers:
Fikeveni Dlamini, Jonathon Martin and Melissa Sauder. Each student speaker addressed one of the three phrases in the school's mission statement, "centered in Christ, transforming lives, and changing our world." Eric Albrecht led worship, Charise Garber led devotions, Lisa Hershey read the class poem she composed, and Darren Weinhold read the class verse, Psalm 46:1.
Lancaster Mennonite High School held its 66th commencement ceremony Saturday, May 31, in the school’s Fine Arts Center. When a thunderstorm prevented the graduates from meeting on the front lawn following commencement, the graduates gathered in the school’s gymasium for their traditional prayer of blessing and mortarboard toss.
