Spring musical—High Button Shoes

Lancaster Mennonite High School students will perform the musical, High Button Shoes, during the school’s 31st annual Arts Festival, Thursday through Saturday, April 29–May 1. Times are 7:30 nightly and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Don’t miss this high energy comedy that follows the escapades of a lovable con man and his sidekick who tries to swindle the people of his hometown out of their hard-earned money. Set in 1913, this colorful musical features a bevy of birdwatchers, the Rutgers football team, a clumsy group of Keystone Kops among many other memorable characters. It hearkens back to the age of bicycles built for two, hometown picnics, and Model T’s. High Button Shoes, taken from the book by George Abbott and Stephen Longstreet, features music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Sammy Cahn.

Tickets for reserved seating are $8.00 for students and $10.00 for adults for all performances except Saturday’s matinee when they will be $1.00 less. For tickets call (717) 299-0436, ext. 340, or send payment and a self-addressed envelope to LMS Musical, 2176 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, Pa., 17602.
