Fall Gathering and Auction

Lancaster Mennonite School’s annual Fall Gathering and Auction will be held at the school’s Lancaster Campus Thursday through Saturday, November 15-17.

The high school play, “Animal Farm,” will be performed each evening at 7:30 in the Fine Arts Center. For ticket information call (717) 299-0436, ext. 340. Friday will include a pig roast/chicken barbecue 12:30-8:00 p.m. (takeout 12:30-8:00 and dine in 4:30-8:00), preview of quilts and other sale items, a baked goods sale, and a silent auction that will end Saturday afternoon.

Saturday will begin with breakfast at 8:00, and the general auction at 9:00. The day also includes a small auction at 10:00, handcrafted quilts and wall hangings at 11:00, and specialty items at noon that will feature a limited number of custom-made eight-inch pitchers crested with the school seal. The colonial-style pitchers are crafted from pewter-like metal by the Wilton Armetale foundry. Other specialty items include vacation packages, sports tickets, artwork, and more.

For auction information, call Gary Hiller at 653-5236, or go to lancastermennonite.org. Auction proceeds will benefit the school’s annual fund. The Lancaster Campus is located along Route 30 about 2 miles east of Lancaster.

Saturday's auction will include the sale of beautiful quilts and wall hangings at 11 a.m.

A 5K Iron Bridge Run/Walk also will be held Saturday morning at 9:30, in conjunction with the weekend events (registration at 8:00). To register, complete a registration form or call Jeff shank at 394-7107.

A one-week stay at a villa in Hilton Head, South Carolina, will be sold at Saturday’s auction around noon. The two-bedroom, two-bath villa is located across from Sea Pines Racquet Club and Harbour Town Golf Links (ranked among the top golf courses in the world). The one-week package, which includes free tennis and discounted golf at some courses, must be used December 2007 through February 2008 or November 2008 through February 2009. The location is an easy walk to shops, restaurants, marina and famous Harbour Town lighthouse. A bike ride away from the beach, the area has access to miles and miles of bike paths.
A Chesapeake cruise for 20, hosted by Marlin and Doris Thomas, also will be sold on Saturday. The cruise will include elegant dining at Anapolis, Maryland, sightseeing/shopping, and time with friends.
