Mennonite Children’s Choir holds auditions
The Mennonite Children’s Choir of Lancaster (MCCL) is currently auditioning singers entering grades 2–12 for the 2009-10 season. Choirs include: Carol Choir, grades 2–5; Concert Choir, grades 6–8; and Chamber Choir, grades 9–12.
The auditioning dates are:- Tuesday, June 2
- Tuesday August 4
- Tuesday, August 11
Auditions will be held at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church on Delp Road. Persons auditioning should prepare a short song that demonstrates their singing ability.

Blessing is on the piano faculty at the Lancaster Conservatory of Music, teaches piano through the non-credit lesson program at Franklin and Marshall College, and serves as choir director and pianist at Landis Valley Mennonite Church.
Hein has taught elementary, middle and high school choral music in both public and private school settings. She has served as a director of children’s and youth music and in this role directed six community youth musicals and founded the popular Created to Praise arts day camp.
The mission of the MCCL includes not only a desire to develop musical excellence and discipline but also emphasizes the meaning of worship and service to God within the church community. This is reflected in the concert schedule, which includes churches, retirement centers and benefit concerts. While there is tuition, cost should never be a deterring factor. Financial assistance is available. MCCL is a program of Lancaster Mennonite School.
