LMH seniors will be giving their required formal senior presentations on March 2, 20 and 28. Director of Guidance Kirk Benner says, “These will be wonderful times of celebration as seniors share their 20-minute presentations with family, friends, teachers, classmates, friends from church and work, coaches and others who have had a meaningful impact on them throughout high school.” One of the graduation requirements is for seniors to attend at least four senior presentations to support their friends and classmates.

Student presentations will be held after school between 3:30 and 8 p.m. in the Rutt Academic Center. Enter at the Atrium Entrance that faces the parking lot. Refreshments will be available in the Atrium.

About Senior Presentations

LMH students maintain a vocational portfolio for the duration of their education at Lancaster Mennonite. Advisors guide students in reflection of their experiences and some portfolio pieces will occur in class. Students then use documents from their portfolio for thier senior presentations. The goal of a senior presentation is for students to reflect on their life so far, appreciate those who have nurtured them and to anticipate their future.

The portfolio and presentation helps students to:

  • Discover their interests, skills, passion and God’s calling in their life, realizing that this discovery is a process and not a conclusion
  • Reflect upon stewardship of God-given gifts and resources
  • Discern their personal characteristics and Christian ethics needed for a vocation
  • Become aware of how their potential career can be Christ centered and missional
  • Review their personal high school plan in light of their current vocational goals
  • Select post-secondary opportunities that match their personal vocational interests and goals
