As spring draws near, students and staff at Lancaster Mennonite School are busily preparing for the school’s annual golf tournament. This year’s tournament will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at Conestoga Country Club, 1950 Stone Mill Road, Lancaster.

The event will include morning and afternoon four-person scrambles with a catered meal, provided by Hess’s Barbecue Catering, and prizes at the Manor Township Community Park (Charlestown Park) after each round.

The morning shotgun begins at 7:30 a.m. and the afternoon round will begin at 1 p.m.

In addition to the meal, the $95 golfer fee includes greens fees, cart and either breakfast before the morning round or a snack before the afternoon round. Golfers also have the opportunity to purchase mulligans.

Team, individual skill and door prizes will be awarded after each round. Awards will be given to top men, senior men, women and mixed foursomes.

The event began more than 20 years ago as a student council project and has grown ever since. Lancaster Mennonite School serves more than 1,600 students from prekindergarten through grade 12 at five campuses.

Anyone interested in participating in the tournament is encouraged to register as soon as possible in order to secure preferred starting times. The afternoon round is limited to 124 golfers. The registration deadline has been extended to April 17. RAIN DATE

In the event of rain or other inclement conditions as determined by Conestoga Country Club, the tournament will be played April 30. If the tournament is canceled for the rain date, your entire entry fee will be considered a donation to Lancaster Mennonite School.
