L-L coaches bestow 2018 All-Star honors for girls volleyball.

The Lancaster-Lebanon League girls volleyball coaches announced their sectional All-Stars for the 2018 season at a Nov. 7 banquet.

Section One

Four players from section champion Hempfield earned first team honors, including MVP Jailene Lugo, a junior middle hitter and two-time selection.

Other first team honorees from Hempfield were junior hitters Megan Criste, Claire Flood, and two-time selection Kylie Ulrich.

Earning first team honors for Section One runner-up Manheim Township were junior setter Katie Bushong and junior libero Nicolina Kondos, a second-team all-star in 2017.

Rounding out the first team were senior outside hitter Shayna Warfel of Penn Manor and senior setter Brooklyn Varner of Cedar Crest, a second-team all-star in 2017.

Section Two

Two players from Section Two champion Garden Spot earned first-team honors, including MVP Shawna Zeiset, a senior outside hitter and two-time selection.

Also earning first team honors for Garden Spot was senior setter Sarah Shirk, a second team all-star in 2017.

Ephrata and Lampeter-Strasburg matched Garden Spot with two first team selections each.

Earning first team nods for Ephrata were junior hitter Brielle Brock and junior libero Maddy Eby. Earning first team nods for Lampeter-Strasburg were senior hitters Betsy Brenneman and Haley Hoover. Brock and Hoover were second team all-stars in 2017.

Meanwhile, earning first team honors for section runner-up Elizabethtown was senior setter Julia Rathsam, a second team all-star in 2017.

Rounding out the first team was senior hitter Rebecca Keppley of Manheim Central.

The Lancaster-Lebanon Chapter of PIAA Volleyball Officials bestowed the 2018 Sportsmanship Award to Lebanon High School, which played its first season in Section Two this year after previously playing in Section Three.

Lancaster Mennonite head coach Brent Hurst was named 2018 L-L Coach of the Year after guiding the Blazers to the Section Three championship in his first season.

Meanwhile, two players from Lancaster Mennonite garnered first team honors, including Section Three MVP Bryanna Miller, a senior outside hitter and two-time selection.

Also earning first team honors for Lancaster Mennonite was senior hitter Chloe King, a second team all-star in 2017.

One player from Octorara and two players from Section Three runner-up Lancaster Catholic earned first team honors in what was the inaugural L-L season for both teams.

Earning a first team nod for Octorara was senior hitter Claire Croft, while Lancaster Catholiv senior libero Jenna Danielson and sophomore hitter Isabel Hoin were also honored.

Rounding out the first team were senior hitter Nyla Gensemer of Cocalico, senior hitter RaeAnn Lessing of Northern Lebanon, and senior setter Maddie Stone of Elco. Gensemer and Stone were second team all-stars in 2017.
