College Prep

LM is committed to your student’s success and preparing them well for college through rigorous Honors, Advanced Placement and dual enrollment college courses, a variety of extracurricular opportunities, and caring teachers. Each international student is assigned a school counselor to guide him/her through the rigorous process of course selection as well as to prepare for college application in their junior and senior years.

Bellas artes

Lancaster Mennonite offers a variety of art classes, including ceramics, painting, and photography. The students at LM put on three drama productions a year, one of which is a musical. The Advanced Music Studio taught with college professors is for Gifted and Talented High School Students. LM has an established reputation for excellence in choral music, award-winning Advanced Music Program piano students, an award-winning drama program, and nationally decorated artists.

Campeonato de Atletismo

Through athletic training, students develop skills, team spirit, and character to prepare for success in college. The LM Blazers consist of 18 student-athlete teams during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. These teams compete in the Lancaster-Lebanon League and regularly send athletic teams to league, district, and state playoff competitions.

Clubs

Clubs allow students to get involved with people who share your interests. They create a social and cultural experience which fosters student leadership, community involvement, and personal growth. Clubs include: International Student Association (ISA), Art Club, Green Team, Literary Magazine, Music Practice Club, National Honors Society (NHS), Student Council, Tech Crew, Ultimate Frisbee, Yearbook, and many more!

Living Accommodations

Make the choice between homestay and dorm living. Being in a residence hall/dormitory with other international students can be a great experience and opportunity to increase your independence and responsibility. However, students who stay with host families become more immersed in the language and culture. Also, host families treat their students as family members – involving them in activities, excursions, and household responsibilities. Homestays are arranged by agencies, not the school. PASO 1: Crear una cuenta

PASO 2: Añada su información

A través de esta cuenta también podrá pagar la tasa de solicitud, ver la lista de comprobación de la solicitud y cargar los documentos necesarios.

PASO 3: Presentar la solicitud

After all information has been accurately entered, you may submit your application online with the link below. The school requires academic, attendance and behavior reports, along with a copy of immunizations, to complete an application. We typically require a score of 40 on the TOEFL test or an equivalent test.

PASO 4: Entrevista de admisión para nuevos estudiantes

After an application is submitted, a family/new student interview will be scheduled with the Admissions Office or the grade level principal. Interviews are conducted online via Zoom, WeChat, or WhatsApp. A decision on acceptance will be made after all steps are completed.

STEP 5: Receive Acceptance Letter

After reviewing your application and conducting the interview, if you are approved to enroll as a student you will then receive an official acceptance letter and welcome packet from the school.

STEP 6: Confirm Enrollment & Pay

You confirm enrollment to Lancaster Mennonite by paying a tuition deposit to receive Visa paperwork. Your full tuition bill is due by July 1 for the coming school year.

STEP 7: I-20 Student Visa Interview

Students will schedule a Visa interview at their local embassy or consulate for a visa to study in the United States. After that interview you will hear back if you have approval to study in the United States. Please let the school know the results of your visa interview immediately so we can finalize the necessary paperwork and next steps to be officially enrolled at Lancaster Mennonite!

In his work as an Associate Broker and Realtor with Kingsway Realty, Tim provides his services to refugees interested in home buying. “It takes extra work to help people who are new to U.S. customs, laws, finance, and architecture. It takes a higher level of service in order to counsel them well.” For Tim, Cultivating Global Citizens is about believing that “all people have the intrinsic value of being made in God’s image.”

FAMILY LEGACY BETWEEN ETHIOPIA & LANCASTER MENNONITE SCHOOL: HAMELMAL ’93 & BETHLETHEM ’93 YOHANNES GERMAMO

The Yohannes Family has been connected to LM for decades. Sisters came to the United States from Ethiopia for high school and lived in the Graybill Hall Residence Hall as dorm students. Hamelmal currently lives in Virginia and provides financial management and financial system support to the U.S. Government. Bethlehem, is a nurse at Georgetown University Hospital caring for patients before and after surgery.

SERVING IN COSTA RICA WITH VIDANET: JENNIFER HOOVER ’90

For the past seven years, my family and I (JENNIFER DIENER HOOVER ‘90) have worked with VidaNet in Heredia, Costa Rica. Vidanet exists to develop global disciples of Jesus Christ through intensive discipleship and mission opportunities. My husband, DARYL HOOVER ‘88 and I serve on the executive leadership team. Daryl is CFO, and I am the hospitality coordinator, mentor for our staff girls, staff nurse and volunteer for the crisis pregnancy service we offer.
