Commencement Speaker
Andrés Prins, Consultant and Peace Ambassador at Eastern Mennonite Mission, will deliver the commencement address to the class of 2025. He was born in Canada of Dutch parents, spent his childhood and youth in Uruguay, giving his life to Christ when he was 8 years old. As a young adult he became convinced God was calling him to be a peace ambassador of Jesus Christ among Muslims, which led him to obtain a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the American University of Cairo (Egypt, 1986). He has worked as a teacher of English and Spanish, as an interpreter-translator (MWC, Operation World, etc.), and as an EMM-related consultant on Christian-Muslim relations, based principally in North Africa since first moving there almost 40 years ago. He is married to Angelica, from Paraguay; their one daughter graduated from LM in 2015.
