Required Science Courses

Requirements

  • Students must receive 3 total science credits.
  • 2 of the credits must be selected from courses in bold print.
  • Classes marked with * are basic requirements for most colleges. Not having these classes means you have knowledge below what is considered normal entrance knowledge.

Course Sequences

Main track: Environmental Science (1.0 credit) → *Biology (1.0) → Animal Biotech (.5)/Electronics (.5)/Forestry & Environment (.5)/etc.

Engineering/Medical track: Environmental Science (1.0 credit) → *Biology (1.0) → *Chemistry/Honors Chemistry (1.0) → *Physics/Honors Physics (1.0) → AP Chemistry (1.0)/AP Physics (1.0)

Medical/Health track: Environmental Science (1.0 credit) → *Biology (1.0) → *Chemistry/Honors Chemistry (1.0) → *Physics/Honors Physics (1.0) → Advanced Environmental (.5)/Anatomy & Physiology (.5)/AP Biology (1.0)

One Science credit may also be earned by taking two 0.5 credit courses from the Agriculture Department, Technology Department, and/or Family and Consumer Sciences Department.
