What a beautiful first week of school!
This week, we welcomed PreK–12th grade students back to campus and began another year of learning, growing, building community, and discovering all that God has in store. As a school rooted in Christ and guided by Scripture, we are grateful for the opportunity to begin this new year together.
The first day began with parents gathering to pray for our students, teachers, staff, and school community. Soon, the familiar excitement of reconnecting with friends, meeting new classmates, getting to know teachers, and settling into new classrooms and routines filled the campus. Across LM, students jumped right into learning while also finding time to play, create, move, sing, compete, and simply enjoy being together again.
Our high school students gathered for chapel to begin the year together and were introduced to this year’s school theme: Re: Image, all things new. With the help of several high school students, Dr. B brought the theme to life in a memorable—and fun—way, even dressing up as the sun!
Throughout chapel times this year, students will explore what it means to be made in the image of God and how, as followers of Christ, we are continually being transformed more into His likeness. Together, we will reflect on 2 Corinthians 3:18, which reminds us that we are being transformed into the Lord’s image; 2 Corinthians 5:17, which celebrates the new creation we become in Christ; and Colossians 1:15, which points us to Jesus as the image of the invisible God. What a meaningful foundation for a year of faith, growth, and becoming all that God has created us to be.
In middle school, students prayed together in their classrooms, while elementary students sang and prayed over snack, offering meaningful reminders that faith is woven throughout life and learning at LM.
As the week continued, classrooms and hallways came alive with activity and an engaging curriculum. Students enjoyed learning together, participating in gym class, creating in art, making music, practicing and competing in sports, spending time on the playground, and exploring all that a new school year has to offer. Along the way, teachers and students continued building the kind of compassionate community that makes LM a place where students are known, supported, and encouraged.
Old friendships picked up right where they left off, while new friendships began to take shape. There were smiles in the hallways, conversations in classrooms, laughter on the playground, and countless opportunities for students to connect with teachers and one another.
Most of all, it was a joy to see our campus full again—filled with the energy, curiosity, laughter, and life that come when students and teachers gather together. We are grateful for a beautiful week back on campus and excited for all that lies ahead.
Here’s to a new school year of learning with purpose, growing in faith, building meaningful relationships, and experiencing life together.
Take a look through some of our favorite moments from the first week of school—and please continue to join us in prayer for our students, teachers, staff, and the entire LM school community as we begin this new year together.
