Blazers Boys Basketball Completes State Playoff Run in Semi-Finals

The LMH Boys basketball team completed another run deep into the state playoffs this year before falling to a three-point buzzer shot by Richland in the semi-finals.  With District 6-3A runner-up Richland trailing by two points with 3 seconds left on the clock, Richland hit a running 3-pointer from about 10 feet behind the arc, giving Richland a walk-off 54-52 win and ending the Blazers state playoff run. The winning shot appeared on ESPN’s “Top Ten” plays of the week.

In finishing second in Section Two, the Blazers were on the losing end of two of the league’s closest games, an overtime loss to Lancaster Catholic and a 63-62 loss to Northern Lebanon with 1.6 seconds remaining.

In Districts, the District 3-3A semifinal playoff also went down to the wire, with LMH losing to 49-48 to Kutztown. Lancaster Mennonite then lost its third/fourth-place game against Steel-High also by a point, 60-59.

On paper, the Blazer’s overall record of 20-10 record may not appear impressive, but four of those losses were in League, District and State playoffs and four were by two points or less.
