Students signing at chapel

Song in Spanish - Yo Tengo Un Amigo Que Me Ama (I have a friend who loves me)

Elementary students had an exciting chapel time today to honor Hispanic Heritage Month. First, they started by singing a song together in Spanish. Some of the lyrics are:

Tenemos un amigo que nos ama
Nos ama, nos ama
Tenemos un amigo que nos ama
Su nombre es Jesus

Que nos ama, que nos ama
Que nos ama así con tierno amor
Que nos ama, que nos ama
Su nombre es Jesus

In English, that means:
We have a friend who loves us
He loves us, he loves us
We have a friend who loves us
His name is Jesus

Who loves us, who loves us
Who loves us like this with tender love
Who loves us, who loves us
His name is Jesus

Teacher Sharing

After that, several teachers shared about countries that they have lived in or experienced like Chile, Colombia, Honduras, Spain, and more! They taught students about the food, animals, landscapes, and culture of these countries.

Performance by 3rd & 4th Grade Spanish Immersion Students

In the last part of the presentation, 3rd and 4th graders in the Spanish Immersion Program performed a song and dance that they have been practicing celebrating unity. Everyone had a lot of fun dancing along!

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
