When ALICIA (GODFREY) HORST ‘92, COLEEN (ROHRER) HURST ’92, and KRISTIN (WILE) KREIDER ‘92 first arrived at LM from public schools, they found each other through field hockey—Kristin and Coleen as players, and Alicia as the team manager all four years. That shared connection quickly became the foundation of a lifelong friendship.

High school brought countless adventures: triple dates with three close friends from Forest Hills Mennonite Church Youth Group (who later became their husbands), Chi Chi’s dinners, shopping trips, girls’ nights watching 90210, and cheering each other on through every field hockey, basketball, and baseball season.

The three stayed connected long after graduation, bound by Christian faith, laughter, and a shared history. Marrying their high school sweethearts— JEFF HORST ’91, CHAD HURST ’91, and BRENT KREIDER ‘91 — created a unique family bond, with yearly traditions and plenty of fun for the next generation. Over the decades, they’ve prayed together, celebrated victories, weathered hardships, and offered each other grace that fosters deep trust and safety.

They see their friendship as a rare treasure—35+ years of laughter, tears, and unwavering support. “Lancaster Mennonite provided us with a smaller Christ-centered community that encouraged relationships both during our years on campus and beyond,” they reflected. “If any of us need something, we’re each other’s first calls or texts.”

Looking back, their advice for current LM students is simple: “Don’t take friendships for granted. Give grace, be kind, be patient, and be grateful. Embrace every opportunity to make memories—you never know which ones will last a lifetime.”
