Rooted in Christ Lancaster Mennonite log

Lancaster Mennonite School is excited to announce updated mission and vision statements, approved by the Board of Trustees in January 2026, following a year-long, prayerful discernment process.

This work invited school leadership and board members to reflect deeply on Lancaster Mennonite School’s founding commitments, current context, and God’s ongoing call for the school community. The updated statements offer greater clarity and focus while remaining firmly rooted in the school’s Christ-centered identity.

Updated Mission

Rooted in Christ and guided by Scripture, Lancaster Mennonite School educates and disciples students through compassionate community, vibrant student life, and engaging curriculum.

This updated mission names both Lancaster Mennonite School’s purpose—educating and discipling students—and the primary ways that purpose is lived out each day through community, student life, and curriculum with a foundation in Christ and Scripture.

Updated Vision

Inspired by the transforming gospel of Jesus, Lancaster Mennonite School graduates embody their faith locally and globally in vocation, service, and peacemaking.

The updated vision reflects the school’s long-term hope for its students: that their faith would shape how they live, serve, and lead in every calling God places before them.

The updated mission and vision is on our website and we shared this news with faculty, staff, families, alumni, and supporters. We will be sharing it with students during chapel time next week. It will continue to guide the school’s culture, priorities, and decision-making in the years ahead. While the language is refreshed, Lancaster Mennonite School’s commitment to forming students who are rooted in Christ remains unchanged.

Lancaster Mennonite School is grateful for the continued partnership and support of its community and looks forward to living into this shared calling together.
