Five Lancaster Mennonite School students won medals for projects at the regional level of the PA Computer Fair on Friday, April 10. The regional fair is open to all schools served by Intermediate Unit 13 (Lancaster and Lebanon counties).

Last year Lancaster Mennonite High School swept the High School Website Design category, taking first, second and third prizes. This year, senior Cameron Andrews was the only LMH entrant, but repeated in taking first place with his personal business website, Cameron Andrews Designs. Andrews was the eventual state champion last year.

Senior Ian Schwabe took first place in the Computer Animation category with “Life is a Test,” an anti-bullying cartoon voice-acted by a cast of fellow LMH students.

In the Middle School competition, the Kraybill Campus entered three projects. Justin Gibble’s “Runaway Trash Cart” won first prize in the Digital Movie Category. “Seal Circus” by Avery Ford and Owen Nell, and “How to Fly a Kite” by Zach Lees, took second and third place, respectively, in the Computer Animation category.

The first-place winners – Andrews, Schwabe and Gibble – will advance to the state finals at Dickinson College in May.
