Joshua Reinford, a senior of the 2026 class, has participated in many Lancaster Mennonite School extracurriculars and stands out for his academic achievements. He spends his time running cross country and participating in ultimate frisbee club.
When asking about how he has changed since freshman year, such as by developing a new passion, he responded, “Since freshman year, I think I have become more understanding of other people and their perspectives. I have also grown in my friendships and gotten to know more people. In terms of new interests, I have started playing disc golf and riding bike, and I really enjoy both of those.”
After high school, he plans to go to college for mechanical engineering. He is excited to learn more about math, physics, and to deepen his understanding of engineering. Another thing he looks forward to is meeting new people and living in an environment with his future friends.
One thing that Reinford has learned from being at LMH that he will take into his next stages of life, is the concepts that he learned in AP Physics and calculus. One of his proudest accomplishments in high school is getting a 5 on the AP physics test. Reinford is also recently recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist, meaning that he placed in the top 16,000 students in the US in the PSAT. He now has the opportunity to apply for the National Merit Scholarship, which is worth $2,500.
As his time at Lancaster Mennonite comes to a close, he wants to thank his teachers and friends for making his high school experience enjoyable and teaching him valuable lessons.
