Nineteen students from Lancaster Mennonite School and Dock Mennonite Academy just returned from a two-week immersion in the heart of Spain—and what a journey it was! ✨

Together with leaders Mrs. Karen Maddox (LM) and Dr. Anabella Silvermoon (Dock), students explored historic cities like Madrid, Segovia, and Toledo, lived with local host families, and built friendships at Colegio Quercus—a partner school in Madrid.

🗣️ “Practicing my Spanish with my host family was out of my comfort zone,” shared Dock Academy student, Amy Muhlfeld (‘26), “but it helped build my confidence and understanding. My host sister and I became great friends—it was hard to say goodbye!”

🏰 Students visited the Royal Palace, the Alcázar of Segovia, the Prado Museum, and even climbed the narrow streets of Toledo. And of course, there was plenty of jamón, laughter, and late-night conversations en español.

📸 “Spain was so much fun, and was a country I’d been hoping to visit for a long time,” said LM student, Josh Lucas-Towers (‘25). “The highlight for me was the architecture and the photos I was able to capture—plus being with such a great group made it all so special.”

This unforgettable trip is part of an ongoing exchange partnership. Gracias to all the teachers, host families, and supporters who made this aventura possible. 🌍❤️
