ELAINA (DINSE) BRUBAKER ‘20 and LAUREN (WILL) HOOVER’S ‘20 lifelong friendship began in preschool at Kraybill Mennonite School and grew stronger through every shared interaction—from soccer games and school projects to faith-filled conversations and carpool rides to LMH. As teammates and classmates, their bond deepened during high school through shared experiences like planning prom, attending homecoming, and traveling to Peru together for mini course.

Though college took them to different states, their friendship remained rooted in consistency, faith, and mutual support. Today, they live just ten minutes apart, recently stood by each other at their weddings—both married their high school sweethearts, HUNTER BRUBAKER ‘20 and EVAN HOOVER ‘20, —and continue walking through life as chosen sisters.
Their years at LM helped form a strong spiritual foundation—giving them space to ask deep questions and grow in their Christian faith side by side. “It’s been awesome to see how the Lord has worked in both of our lives,” Elaina shared.
Their advice to current LM students? Invest in deep, faith-rooted friendships. “Find friends who love you for you,” says Elaina. Lauren adds, “Be open and honest—there’s so much you can learn from both your friends and your teachers.”
