Academics At Kraybill

The 12-acre Kraybill Campus, in a rural setting outside Mount Joy, provides PreK-8 education for northwest Lancaster County and surrounding communities.

Founded in 1949, Kraybill started out in the historic 1898 Kraybill Meetinghouse. Over the years, the classrooms moved to modern facilities on the twelve-acre campus. The renovated Meetinghouse now serves as the campus chapel, a reminder of the school’s spiritual foundation and close relationship with the Church.

The Kraybill Campus has excellent facilities for its outstanding, innovative full-day PreK and kindergarten programs in a real school environment with older student role models. Experiencing a regular school-day schedule and a regular school environment better prepares students for kindergarten and first grade.

The large Kraybill gymnasium/auditorium reflects a strong commitment to outstanding athletic and fine arts programs. Kraybill’s athletic teams compete in the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference, where they have a long streak of championships in several sports. On the stage, Kraybill is well-known for its outstanding elementary music program that produces two music programs every year, involving every elementary student.

The gymnasium/auditorium area also contains state-of-the-art music rooms and the Palazzo Gallery for art. Thanks to an outstanding art program in the elementary grades, Kraybill middle school students have won awards at the highest national levels. An open art studio is available for middle school students.

Modern Home Technology facilities for cooking, sewing and ironing are also lodged in the auditorium/gymnasium area, and a workshop with woodworking tools and equipment is located in the basement of the Kraybill Meetinghouse. All Kraybill middle school students learn skills such as cooking, sewing and ironing in addition to basic carpentry and automobile maintenance.
