TERRENCE ROSARIO ‘06 aspired to be an NBA star. It was his only goal. While he still enjoys basketball and watches his son play, but
today, his goal is empathy.
“Being able to see from another person’s perspective, to put myself in that person’s shoes and to help them in whatever way I can,” is how Terrence describes his role at JusticeWorks YouthCare.
Working with court mandated youth, Terrence provides them with counseling and equips them with tools to build better futures. Showing empathy is how Terrence has been able to guide families to overcome unhealthy life choices.
“It’s how Jesus lived; with compassion. He constantly moved to help people experience God’s love and forgiveness. God used LM to plant
the seed. I didn’t realize it at the time; God really started working on my heart there,” said Terrence.
Upon reflecting on his time at LM, Terrence shares, “I’m grateful for the many that encouraged me to build a relationship with God.” The biggest influence was Ms. Jan McDowell. He said, “Her guidance, love and support for me encouraged me to believe I can have an impact
on youth one day. She planted the seed.”
Not playing in the NBA but accomplishing another impressive goal, Terrence graduated from Lancaster Bible College with a degree in Pastoral Ministry. He’s been a Youth Pastor and has even coached a Jr. High Boys basketball team, but his greatest role is that of a father.
As he thinks back on the seed that was planted at LM, Terrence shares, “Be grateful for where God has you, and grow wherever you’re planted.”
